A workplace visit is a powerful way to help students explore careers and gain insight into just what is required to make it in your business or industry. Who knows? You might be connecting with your future protégée.
Two of our student leaders, accompanied by a staff member, will sit down with you at your location for the interview. It’s quick – generally about 30 minutes; and you will receive a list of questions in advance.

AmeriCorps members facilitate college and career exploration through a structured program of extracurricular activities. Members will recruit, train and support community volunteers, facilitate tutoring and academic enrichment activities, and plan and carry out career and community service events. Members will work closely with a variety of people including Lead Up’s professional staff, community investors, and teachers and administrators in Lead Up partner schools. They are fist and foremost role models and coaches for students who are planning their future and developing their leadership capacity.
AmeriCorps members support Lead Up’s efforts to prepare underrepresented students to graduate from high school and successfully enter college and career.
Full-time members will receive a living stipend of $12,530.00 and earn an Education Award of $5,815.00 upon successful completion of service.
Other benefits include training, health coverage, forbearance on qualifying student loans and childcare assistance if eligible.

“VISTA volunteers stand ready to serve at the request of every community and every neighborhood, every organization and institution, which joins the war against poverty.”
VISTA members will serve as Development Associates. In this role, they will use their talents and creativity to recruit and develop volunteers and partners, contribute to the agency’s strategic marketing and communication efforts, and engage in developing revenue by establishing relationships with foundations, corporations, and individuals and planning and executing events.
VISTA members help build the capacity of organizations that are working to alleviate poverty all across the country. Being an AmeriCorps VISTA member is about making a tangible difference for communities and individuals dealing with some of our Nation’s biggest challenges: poverty, inequity, homelessness, and lack of access to education.
Full-time members will receive a living stipend of $12,3120.00 and earn an Education Award of $6,095.00 upon successful completion of service.
